For the past two months, Desert Hills EFC has been preaching through the “Fruit of the Spirit” from Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
This week, we focused on a Christian virtue that is not discussed enough: gentleness. Gentleness is of supreme importance because we live in a society that prides ourselves on power and exploiting weaknesses. These traits that are the antithesis of gentleness. But according to the beatitudes, “blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5).
Please download this week’s sermon outline to read or review the sermon on gentleness. You will learn about the biblical meaning of gentleness, Jesus’ example of gentleness, and how to grow in your practice of gentleness.
