Sunday school is a wonderful opportunity to study God’s Word together in a format that allows for discussion and fellowship. At Desert Hills, we have different Sunday school classes each quarter. The spring quarter begins this Sunday, March 1, and will last through the end of May. We will have two different classes meeting this quarter.
In the Worship Center North Classroom, we’ll be learning about the books of 1 and 2 Kings. Over the past two quarters, we have covered 1 and 2 Samuel, so this class offers an opportunity to continue to study the history of Israel’s kingdom and see what it teaches us about God’s redemptive plan for His people. Paul Tamborrino and Butch Potvin will be leading us through these two books that chronicle the rise and fall of the kingdom of Israel.
In the Worship Center South Classroom, we’ll be studying the New Testament books of Matthew through Acts in survey form. Each spring over the past two years, Pastor Robb has taught a survey on the Old Testament, so this class naturally follows those two classes. This New Testament Survey class will focus on understanding the major contents of each book, with attention to their major themes, outlines, key passages, historical background, and theological contributions to the canon.
Both classes promise to be a warm and engaging time immersing ourselves in the Word of God. The classes are for adults as well as junior and senior high school students, and they begin at 9AM. And don’t forget that our children’s Sunday school classes for birth through 6th grade meet at the same time as they continue their study through the Bible using Generations of Grace curriculum.
Make plans to join us this Sunday at 9AM!
