There were expectations about the coming Messiah. People expected a coming hero, someone who would challenge the power and military might of the Roman Empire. Many people in Jerusalem had high expectations of another Moses, a revolutionary that would lead another exodus; but this time from Roman rule. John the Baptist was a harbinger of Jesus, sent into the world to preach the good news of true nature of the arrival of the Messiah. But, did John have doubts?
