Jesus was crucified between two thieves. But, these were not some run of the mill thieves; these were violent evil doers. Jesus, the innocent, sinless savior was sacrificed for the sins of the world between two sinful men. There is irony in the fact that Christ was killed between two men and the one man who should have been on the cross, Barabbas, was freed so Christ could fulfill the redemptive plan of God. Barabbas had to be freed so Christ could prove to the world that He was the coming Messiah. Yet, the Roman and the Jewish leaders were ignorant of this fact. But, why did Jesus have to die to prove this? To hear the answer you must listen to this morning’s sermon by Pastor Robb. The only things that matter is Christ crucified.
